Taxidermy

From the age of about 22 I started to pick up various animal oddities and collected lots of quirky, wonderful, dusty taxidermy specimens from antique shops I visited.

As an antiques enthusiast with a slightly morbid fascination, I took great inspiration from these precious items that I could hold and see up close. I studied them in every minute detail and decided that this would be my niche at my antique shop when I eventually opened.

taxidermy noun (U)

the activity of cleaningpreserving, and filling the skins of dead animals with special material to make them look as if they are still alive

“Taxidermy comes from two Greek words; taxi means moving and derma means skin.”
